Default Meguiar's acquired by 3M

Wow, 3M is trying to corner the market. Ranney just informed me on Saturday that they had already bought "Edge" products.

Too bad. Meg's got alot of good products and with their pricing, its hard to beat. Now from reading that article it looks like prices are gonna go up by about 10-15%. Better start stocking up on your favorite products just in case.

damn well that isn't good. Why are they going to raise products on stuff. If they start messing with pricing and messing with the way things are made people might just stop buying their products.

When you buy something that is established in a very good way already the worst thing you can do is change things up prices or the way things are done.

Don't fix it if it isn't broken.

Is there any truth to the increase in price?

Any talk other than the acquisition is just speculation. There may be no change at all. More than likely, the Meguiar's lineup will remain unchanged. Prices, availability and marketing are most likely to get revamped.

A lot of manufacturers have increase's starting around Nov. time frame. But with a buy out it's a guarantee that at least one is coming. The 3M Rep. has told my boss that the 3M blue tape is going up in Dec.

I was just informed today that the first business action by 3M would be to raise the current prices on all Meguiar's products up 10%. I'm not sure how soon but it will be done soon.

Thank you & Aloha,
Ranney
