Default 2015 BMW M228i Estoril Blue Metallic - 8 Hours Exterior Detail

Aloha all...

I had the pleasure detailing the exterior of this Estoril Blue Metallic 2015 BMW M228i Coupe. This was a 8 hours exterior detail. The BMW M228i came in great condition. Surprisingly no dealer induced swirls. The Optimum Opti-Coat Pro Ceramic Coating was applied.

My process and products used are listed below. Well enjoy the pics of the exterior detail of this Estoril Blue Metallic 2015 BMW M228i. All of the pics were taken with the Canon S100 P&S camera.

Wash Step:

1. Wash vehicle down with the SONAX Car Wash Shampoo using the 2 bucket method with Grit Guards using the CarPro Merino Wool Wash Mitt. Rinsed off with the M-T-M 1450 psi pressure washer. Dried with PakShak 24" x 36" waffle weave micro fiber towels.

2. Decontaminated the vehicle using the Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay with the Nanoskin Glide Clay Lubricant to remove the above surface contaminants on all painted surfaces.

3. Cleaned the wheels with the P21 Wheel Cleaner Gel with a Race Glaze Swiss Style Wheel Brush. The tires were cleaned with the Optimum Power Clean diluted 1:3 with the PakShak short bristle tire brush. Using the large size Wheel Woolie cleaned the plastic/fabric wheel wells. Pressure washed tires and under the wheel wells.

Polish Step:

1. Polishing/Finishing: Rupes BigFoot LHR 15ES random orbital polisher set at 4 on the speed dial with the Rupes 6" white finishing pads and the Optimum Primer. Rupes Mini LHR 75E random orbital polisher set at 4 on the speed dial with the Rupes 3" white finishing pads for tight areas (A pillar, bumpers, trunk lid etc.) and the Optimum Primer.

2. Wash the vehicle with CarPro Reset Intensive Shampoo with the CarPro Merino Wool Wash Mitt. Dried the vehicle with the PakShak 24" x 36" waffle weave micro fiber towels.

Paint Coating (LSP) Step:

1. Optimum Opti-Coat Pro Ceramic Coating applied by hand with the CarPro applicator block and 4"x4" suede micro fiber cloths. Within 1 1/2 minutes, lightly buffed with PakShak 16" x 16" "Shave Ice" ultra-plush micro fiber towels.

2. Using the Infratech Infrared Curing Lamp each panel got 10 minutes of infrared heat.

3. Next applied the Optimum Opti-Seal over the Optimum Opti-Coat Pro Ceramic Coating for added slickness and maximize protection. Using a PakShak 16" x 16" "Shave Ice" ultra-plush micro fiber towels.

Final Steps:

1. Headlights and tail lamps were protected with the Optimum Opti-Lens Coating (2 coats - 1 hour in between coats).

2. Dressed tires with Zaino Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss with a NoMess Tire Foam Applicator Pad.

3. Wheels protected with Optimum Opti-Coat Pro Ceramic Coating with a PakShak 4" yellow foam hand applicator pad.

4. All the chrome (decals/badges, front grill accent, exhaust tips) were cleaned with Auto Finesse Citrus Power Bug & Grime Remover. Then protected with the Optimum Opti-Coat Pro Ceramic Coating using a PakShak 4" yellow foam hand applicator pad.

5. Door jambs cleaned with the Auto Finesse Citrus Power Bug & Grime Remover. Then protected with the Optimum Opti-Coat Pro Ceramic Coating using a PakShak 4" yellow foam hand applicator pad.

6. All exterior windows cleaned using the 1Z Einszett Windscreen Clear and PakShak 16" x 16" waffle weave glass towel. Coated windshield and all windows with CarPro FlyBly Forte.

Afters:

Thank you & Aloha,
Ranney

Aloha Ranney, quick question...how many windshields can the 10ml Forte accomplish?

Thanks,
Marv

Aloha Marv,

Sure. The 10 ml CarPro FlyBy Forte can coat 2 to 3 windshields if your applying 2 to 3 coats on each windshield. Ultimately, the size of the windshield will determine whether the 10 ml bottle will be enough for 2 or 3 windshields. The round make-up pad disc that comes with it is the best way to apply the FlyBy Forte. It instantly flashes clear as it is applied to the glass surface so no haze to buff off. Definitely a A+ in my books.

Thank you & Aloha,
Ranney

Hi Gerald. You got to be kidding me. The 435i is a sweet piece of machinery and to top it off a Gran Coupe M-Sport in Estoril Blue.

Thank you & Aloha,
Ranney

That is one beautiful BMW. Good to see them going back to Estoril as a factory option, it looked great on the E36 M3.

Thank you Ranney,

I was in your shop last week, picked up a WW Drying Towel and the CarPro PERL. Love them both! I'm sure I will be back for more goodies soon.
