Default 2014 Scion FR-S Pearl White - 5 Hours Exterior Detail

Aloha all...

I had the pleasure detailing the exterior of this Pearl White 2014 Scion FR-S. This was a 5 hours exterior detail. The Scion FR-S came in good condition with no noticeable swirling.

My process and products used are listed below. Well enjoy the pics of the exterior detail of this Pearl White 2014 Scion FR-S. All of the pics were taken with the Apple iPhone 5.

Wash Step:

1. Wash vehicle down with the Optimum No Rinse Wash using the 2 bucket method with Grit Guard using the PakShak's "Hapa" Ultra-Plush Micro Fiber Towels 700 gsm. Dried with PakShak 25" x 36" ultra-soft waffle weave micro fiber towels.

2. Using the Nanoskin Autoscrub 4" Fine Pad with Nanoskin Glide Clay Lubricant removed the above surface contaminants on all painted surfaces.

3. Decontaminated wheels with CarPro IronX. Next cleaned wheels and tires with Auto Finesse Citrus Power with a Race Glaze Swiss style Wheel Brush. Tires were agitated with short bristles tire brush. Using the large size Wheel Woolie cleaned the plastic wheel wells. Pressure washed tires and under wheel wells.

Paint Cleanse Step:

1. Rupes BigFoot LHR15ES random orbital polisher set between 3 and 4 on the speed dial with the Rupes 6" white finishing pads and Pinnacle Paintwork Cleanser. Griot's Random Orbital Polisher with a Lake Country 3 1/2" DA backing plate and the Lake Country 4" CCS white polishing pads and Pinnacle Paintwork Cleanser was used for the tighter areas (A pillar, bumpers, etc.)

2. Wash the vehicle with Prima Hydro Wash and a PakShak Ultra-Plush Micro Fiber Wash Mitt. Dried the vehicle with the PakShak 25" x 36" ultra-soft waffle weave micro fiber towels.

3. Wipe down paint finish with Prep All Wax and Grease Remover.

Paint Coating (LSP) Step:

1. Optimum Opti-Coat applied by hand with the Euroshine 4" red foam hand applicator pad. Within 5 minutes, lightly buffed with PakShak 16" x 16" "Artic White" Ultra-Plush Micro Fiber Towels.

Final Steps:

1. Dressed tires with Zaino Z16 Tire Gloss with NoMess Tire Foam Applicator Pad.

2. Wheels protected with Optimum Opti-Coat with 4" yellow foam applicator pad.

3. Chrome exhaust tips was polished with the Hawaii Industrial Polish White "Shiney" Metal Polish with PakShak 4" x 6" Ultra Micro Fiber Foam Applicator Pad. Protected with Blackfire Metal Sealant using a 4" yellow foam applicator pad.

4. Door jambs cleaned/polished/protected with Auto Finesse Tripple All-In-One with a PakShak 4" x 6" Ultra Micro Fiber Foam Applicator Pad.

5. Exterior trim protected with CarPro Dlux with 4" yellow foam applicator pad.

Afters:

Thanks for looking!

Thank you & Aloha,
Ranney

Very nice Ranney, how did you like the Dlux for the trim work?

Looks great Ranney! I have some Dlux to test out soon as well. Seen another thread else where the Dlux out lasted other popular trim dressings.

Aloha Ron...Thank you! I really like the CarPro Dlux. It is definitely a contender for trim coatings. It goes like evenly and I really like the incorporated dropper on the bottle. A+

Aloha Shea...Thank you! I too have heard nothing but praise about the CarPro Dlux and I now know why. I haven't had the opportunity to test the durability but the verdict is out and it appears to offer superior durability. Reviews have put the durability at 3-4 months plus.

Thank you & Aloha,
Ranney
